The Strzelecki Centre Library

Library Borrowing

Children can borrow Library books for up to two weeks. During Term 1the Library is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings before school, at 8:40. All children are welcome to come in to read, borrow and return books. Parents are welcome too.

New Books

We are very fortunate to have lots of new books in our Library. Many of them were donated by G.E. Money. We now have nearly all of the books on the ‘Most Popular 100 Books’ list for the Premier’s Reading Challenge. We also have the books nominated for the Children’s Book Council awards.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge

This year children will once again have the opportunity to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Last year 32 children completed the Challenge. The total number of books read or listened to was 1556, which was an outstanding effort.

See the Movie, Read the Book

We have ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ in our Library. Read them and then see the movies. Or see the movies and then read the books.

Book Requests

If there is a book you would like to read and it’s not in our Library, let Mrs Sully know. We will add it to the list for the next order.  We can also find books on particular subjects if there’s something you’re interested in.
